Woke up at 5am to call in for pedal fusion x2. 9:30 and 5:30pm

Woke up again around 630, my body is now so used to be up early I cant sleep past 7am.

Time to Get Day Started 

Breakfast

4 scrambled eggs 1/2 cup of oats and a banana.

 

Pedal fusion-  Ann

Had great Pedal fusion class, burned 658 calories between spin and ab portion of the class. I was a little tired this morning, I opted to not go to Manahawkin at 6am for spin class.  There is some advantages to taking classes really early in the morning.  You get warmed up for other classes and your first class at least for me isn’t always my best class because my ass still trying to get in gear.  Dont get me wrong I dare not slack in classes because well certain instructors are far from shy when they notice it if it’s not verbally mentioned the looks are very much noticed.  Of course because it was the first class of the morning my brain wasn’t fully thinking and I decided in my head to combine 2 exercises when she gave us three to do as I am doing the first one, was asked which one am I trying to do because I am doing a combination of both but that wasn’t what we were told oops. At least we didn’t have to do additional pushups/burpess for this screw up lots of people would have not been happy with me.

 

Pt- Ann “Stretch/ Operation Gumby and Reformer”

Well you know that your trainer needs a vacation when after she comes into the room and starts to stretch you she says “where did you go this morning”  I said after class I went home, and she said what about abs.  I reminded her don’t you remember giving me crap because i combined two of the exercises together not realizing and she said oh yea. lol  There is one things know body get away with when you take an Ann class is slacking or only showing up for 1/2 of a class without a hall pass/permission slip.  The session went well today she has noticed it was easier to stretch me as Ann stated I didn’t have to break a sweat when stretching you.  To be honest up until she started stretching me I never thought about how much work is involved in stretching someone and how beneficial it actually is.  It has helped me greatly by Ann stretching me and even though I have lost a large amount of weight I’m still no small guy.  Besides trainers need to work out to 🙂  (i’m sure i’m going to regret that statement soon enough haha)  No pain no gain

The one that is frustrating me is the damn bruise on my knee, who would have thought 1 bruise on my knee would be such a pain in the ass.  I never realized how often between person training sessions and group ex classes I end up on my knees and well my knee lets me know it’s awake when I hit that bruise.  It will heal soon enough the ironic part of the whole this is I have no idea when it actually happened so  I equally blame everyone it’s more fun that way at least in my mind because I sure didn’t do it on my own haha.

 

Urban Kick- Ann

I love urban kick ass class,  this is by far my most enjoyed class (something must not be wired in my head right.)  I have a lot of fun get to sweat my ass off and hell i guess burning calories is a good thing.  Not only is this class great physically at burning calories depending what moves that the “warrior princess” (Ann)  puts together sometimes I have to actually think damn she not only challenges me physically but challenges my mind.  That is what you call a smart  küpsis,  Today I burned 659 calories, One of things that Ann mentioned she has been doing is during her urban kick classes is doing the basic moves with urban kick that those of us taking the instructor class will benefit from doing on a regular basis just for the record that doens’t mean the class is easy by far it just means she is helping us prepare to take an instructor level course which is helpful as far as I know with the exception of a select few most of the class is people that aren’t seasoned instructors.

 

Pedal Fusion – Ann

Attempt number two at pedal fusion, I am wide  awake and well sweaty as hell as most of us are because majority of the pedal fusion class comes right up from urban kick.  It must be the water at the gym that causes us to do this or well actually a very inspirational instructor that doesn’t accept no for an answer either.  After urban kick everyone has two choices either Frank’s Step class or coming up to Pedal fusion.  Notice shower and home weren’t an option at least for most of us.  Well since I made an oops in am can’t repeat oops in the evening, by the way those that wonder why would I take the identical class in the morning and the evening.  To answer that question neither class is exactly the same for the spin ride and abs once in a very very very blue moon the abs are very similar but never duplicated at least from what I have noticed.  Even if they were I would still come to both as I have stated in previous blog everyone can get something from every class you might try harder more in an evening class then you did during the day class.  One thing I have also learned there is no such things as single numbers in ab classes.  I remember all through my school gym classes I used to dread 10 of whatever the gym teacher said and now I am going to a gym on my own free will and doing sets of 25 50 or 100 depending.  I burned 509 calories  in pedal fusion tonight.

Fitness Yoga- Sandy

Time to end my hard ass day with with some yoga that is relaxing but challenging at the same time.  I took one prior class of Sandy’s two weeks ago and enjoyed it.  One thing that I have had a bad habit of doing on occasion is there is so many classes that I enjoy I don’t always remember to get them all in.  How I ended up in Sandy’s Yoga class was Ann telling me you need to try Sandy’s Fitness Yoga Class I think you will enjoy it.  Well those that know Ann will appreciate this there is no telling Ann no lol.  Ann has been in the fitness industry for many years and well so far the woman has been right every time (I don’t always like to admit that) I have been brought out of my comfort zones by many trainers and instructors, lets just say some are more persistent than others  (not saying that’s a bad thing.)   Well of course Ann was right and I did enjoy it, my mind got to relaxe but with fitness yoga your moving on a regular basis so your always engaged.  One particular thing that I mention I believe in my entry when I first took Sandy’s class is that she walks around the room and isn’t glued to the front of the room.  Personally I appreciate that gives more of a personal touch to a class when an instructor works around the room to see how everyone is doing and give subtle hints, like either mention and placing a block closer to someone to suggest using it.

One thing this class is helping me with in addition to the reformer and manual stretching this also is another tool to help loosen me up.  One thing Sandy mentioned to me at the first class I took was some people are very flexible and not very strong, others are strong and very flexible that everyone is at different levels.  Sand mentioned at the first class that she was watching me and noticed I am very tight and I had filled her in as to where I have come from and yes I am very tight and trying to work on it.  She mentioned it will take some time but it will all come together.  Yes some guys do actually listen to what women say haha doesn’t mean we always like to admit it but in this case I will admit it. 🙂

 

Conversation after Yoga

After yoga Sandy came up to me and said she was glad I came back she was afraid she spooked me off after the first class. I told her about my schedule mishap and oopsed that I did enjoy her class.   She had asked if I took anyone else’s yoga class, I mentioned that I have taken two of jason’s classes when the 6am class was going on and one after spin class.  Sandy commented that she was talking to her husband about me and said you probably have taken some classes with him he is here all of the time.  Another woman in the class mentioned she was talking to her husband about me.  Hmmm do  I need to start to worry that married women are talking their husband about me?  I promise I only look for one’s that are single or in the process of becoming single lol.  Anyway this women (i do remember names but don’t disclose names unless they are aware of my blog in advance and ok with me talking things) mentioned that she would love for me to talk to her husband because he wants to loose weight and wants him to here my story and how thing progressed.  I told her I would be happy to there was 4 of use talking sandy myself and the two other women and the conversation came up if I have ever thought about teaching and well I told them it’s funny you mention that because I am taking the urban kick class on Saturday.  They mentioned that the best instructor are people that have gone through transformations and can relate to what someone goes through and the changes.  At this point is when I mentioned well I created a website to help people see where I came from and the changes as they progress that it wasn’t easy.

We were walking down stairs and one of the women mentioned my husband if over there do you mind, I said sure.  We had a discussion, this very nice gentleman who is committed to wanting to make changes told me he had gastric surgery scheduled but something came up with the dr and it needed to be rescheduled.  I had already told him what my starting weight was and where I am now that in my opinion unless a dr is telling you that you need the surgery because you are at serious health risk if you don’t do something right away I woul reconsider it.  I told him about my relatives that have had surgeries for gastric surgery.  I also told him about someone I worked with that had the surgery and I have surpassed that persons weight loss and I did it without surgery.  I told him if he ready and wants to do this he can do it without the surgery.  He explained that he was working with a trainer that currently hasn’t made any dietary suggestions/changes so far.  I recommend he talk to his trainer about it and or talk to Bianca from the Loose for Life Program that he can get a free consult and she can give me a starting point.  I also told him I will be there to help if he wants.  I could have spent hours talking to him I gave him and his wife the website to give them an idea of how things progressed.  I’m hoping your reading this if you email me through the website I would have to provide you with my cell number.

It’s not an easy process to go through, I told him about the everything that I tried and didn’t work and about how I came to tilton/meridian fitness that the people that work in both Manahawkin and Galloway do really care but he has to want this and want to make the change you can’t force someone to change.  My support system was trainers and employees as the gym I had people telling me you will never be able to do it.  The trainers and staff convinced me otherwise this gentleman has a wife that wants to help and support him through the process.  I was very happy to see that he wants to do this and for himself.   As I said to you in person I will help you as much as you want that one thing to remember you can’t just rely on working with a trainer.  You need  get into some of the classes people don’t judge in classes everyone started somewhere.  Everyone can get something out of every class and you goal and objective is to improve slightly each time you take a class people at the gym care both the staff and people that go there it truly is a happy really big/extended family.

One of my purposes of this website in addition to help answers peoples questions when asked what, how and who did I work with was to help at least one person to reconsider getting gastric surgery done before making a true effort in weight loss and diet.  The surgery is only a tool if you don’t change your weighs the surgery can actually have fatal results if you disregard what the dr’s tell you.  People at the gym will give you many tools help you a long your journey and for days that you want or need someone to talk to I will be here for anyone.  Hell ask any of the trainers or group ex instructors that haven gotten to know me on a personal level I’m not shy when it comes to saying “I hate you” because there will be days where you hate your trainers or instructors.  They will be a friend but their main focus is to inspire and get you to reach your goals and they very good at that when people listen and comply.
